Background
- We conducted grouting defect testing on segments of a metro tunnel in Chongqing on March 23, 2023. According to the provided information, the segment design thickness is 35cm, and the design strength is C50. An appropriate point layout method was used for detection based on the site conditions.
Test Content
This inspection used the Impact-Echo Acoustic Method to conduct quality testing on defects in 9 zones of 4 segments in a tunnel of the under-construction Chongqing Metro Line 18. To clearly demonstrate the inspection effectiveness, a testing method with measurement points arranged along lines was used to inspect the segment grouting quality. The results can indicate the presence, absence, and location of grouting defects within the measurement line ranges of different zones.
Test Result
The inspection revealed significant voids at the 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock positions of segment 66, and at the 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions of segment 75. No grouting defects were found at the corresponding positions of block 2# and block 51. The results from the Impact-Echo Acoustic Method inspection were consistent with the provided specific information. To a certain extent, this method can quickly and effectively inspect the quality of grouting behind shield tunnel segments.
